The Wild Boar and the Fox

The Wild Boar and the Fox
Aesop's Fables - The Wild Boar and the Fox

A wild pig was once pursuing by hunters as it ran through the woodland. He passed a fox sitting on the side of the route while he was running.

The boar pleaded with the fox, "Help me!" I have no idea where to go as the hunters are directly behind me.

Aesop's Fables - The Wild Boar and the Fox

The fox swiftly devised a plan after spotting an opportunity to save himself. Oh, I know the ideal spot for you to hide, he continued. "If you jump into the deep pit in the ground up ahead, the hunters won't be able to find you."

Looking desperately for a way out, the boar followed the fox's advice and dove into the pit. The fox, however, left the boar alone to confront the hunters as soon as he was out of sight.

The moral of the story is to be cautious about who we trust and to put ourselves first because not everyone will have our best interests in mind. Instead of heedlessly following others' counsel, it is always preferable to exercise caution and consider for oneself.
