The Stag and His Reflection

There was was a stag in the forest that was incredibly proud of his magnificent antlers. He used to stand by a pond's side every day to gaze at his reflection.

The stag noticed a party of hunters coming one day as he was gazing at his reflection. He attempted to flee the hunters while being unaware that he was looking at a reflection due to his state of stress. He crashed into a tree, though, and the hunters were able to catch him.

The lesson of the story is that we should be mindful of our surroundings and refrain from letting our egos or pride get in the way. Instead of jumping into things without thinking, we should constantly be cautious and take our time.
