The Sheep and the Pig

The Sheep and the Pig
Aesop's Fables - The Sheep and the Pig

In the forest one day, a pig and a sheep were strolling side by side. Sheep asked pig if he had any food because she was very hungry.

The pig paused to consider his options before recalling that he had some acorns stashed away in a tree. He made the sheep an offer to share his acorns.

The sheep thanked the pig profusely for his generosity. She invited the pig to dinner one day at her place by asking him if he would want to do so.

The pig consented, and the two of them arranged to eat dinner at the sheep's home. The pig was treated to a magnificent roast lamb dinner when it visited the sheep the following day.

The pig was overjoyed and expressed gratitude to the sheep for the delectable feast. But as he was walking away, he realized that the sheep had given her life to provide for him.

The lesson in the story is: "Be careful not to accept an offer too quickly because it may come at a big cost."
