The Rat and the Elephant

The Rat and the Elephant
Aesop's Fables - The Rat and the Elephant

An elephant once blocked a rat's path as he ran through the forest. The mouse was concerned that the elephant would step on him because he was so small and the elephant was so big.

The elephant was beckoned to get out of the way by the mouse, who had hurried up to him. The rat received a chuckle from the elephant, who informed him that he was far too small to be able to compel him to do anything.

After becoming enraged, the rat made the decision to discipline the elephant. He quickly returned to his underground home and emerged with a sizable honeypot.

The rat then climbed the elephant's leg and covered his head in honey. The elephant attempted to shake the rat off when he was startled but failed since the animal was too fast for him.

The elephant collapsed to the ground while attempting to shake the rat off. Laughing at the elephant's predicament, the rat hurriedly fled back to his hole.

Remember not to undervalue even the tiniest creatures' strength, is the story's lesson.
