The Monkey and the Dolphin
Aesop's Fables - The Monkey and the Dolphin

There once was a playful monkey that lived in a far-off region who loved nothing more than to swing from branch to branch and discover the world around him. The monkey was curious and daring, and he enjoyed trying new things and having a good time.

The monkey was swinging around the trees one day when he noticed an odd noise emanating from a nearby river. The sound like a chorus of little voices singing and chirping simultaneously.

Curiosity driving him, the monkey went to explore and discovered that there were numerous dolphins swimming, playing, and generally enjoying themselves in the river. The monkey was enthralled by the dolphins and made the decision that he wanted to partake in their antics.

With the intention of swimming and playing with the dolphins, he plunged from the tree into the river. The monkey began to swim, but soon discovered that he was not made for it. He found it difficult to keep up with the quick and graceful dolphins because his arms and legs were too short and frail.

As the monkey grew weary and frustrated, he made the decision to give up and return to the tree. He understood that swinging and climbing were far more his strengths and that it would be preferable for him to focus on such activities.

The lesson of the story is that we should be aware of our abilities and limitations and concentrate on them. Instead of attempting to perform things that are above our capacity, we ought to work on honing the skills and talents that are already a part of us. Therefore, we ought to always endeavor to accomplish what we are good at rather than trying to do things that are beyond of our capabilities.
