Eventually, the little red hen got an idea. After thinking about it, she decided to plant some wheat seeds and bake bread using the grain. She sought the advice of her duck, goose, and feline companions.

The little red hen questioned, "Who will help me plant the wheat seeds?"

"Not I," the goose responded.

The cat said, "Not I."

Consequently, the lone hen in red did all the work of sowing the seeds. The little red hen diligently tended to the seeds, watered them daily, and removed any weeds she found as the wheat sprouted and grew.
