The Heron

The Heron
Aesop's Fable: The Heron

Once upon a time, a heron lived in the forest beside a pond. Daily, the heron would go into the lake and capture fish for food.

A flock of ducks felt envious after observing a heron fishing one day. Why should she be able to catch every fish in the pond, they wondered? "We also deserve a portion!"

Therefore, the ducks decided to oust the heron and take over the pond for themselves. They attempted to frighten the heron away by honking and swinging their wings as they approached her.

However, the heron was fearless. She held her ground and let out a loud, piercing yell, which sent the ducks fleeing for shelter.

Moral of the story: It is crucial to stand up for ourselves and not allow people to intimidate us. We can overcome even the most difficult obstacles and reach our objectives if we have confidence and resolve.
