The Cock and the Fox

A cock previously lived on a farm and enjoyed displaying his lovely voice every morning at the crack of dawn. A fox felt envious after hearing the cock sing one day.
The fox sighed, "I wish I had a voice like that." "I guess I could pose as a rooster to the farmer and take all the food and attention for myself."
The fox approached the cock and requested permission to use his voice for the day. The fox said, "I swear I'll take good care of it.
The cock nodded in agreement and offered the fox his voice out of flattery. The fox, however, rushed off to the farm and began crowing as loudly as she could as soon as she obtained the cock's voice.
The farmer was duped into believing the fox was a rooster and fed and catered to her exclusively. The cock, on the other hand, was abandoned famished and voiceless.
The moral of the story is that we should be wary of who we put our trust in and consider our own interests because not everyone has our best interests at heart. Always exercise caution and use your own judgment rather than simply relying on the opinions of others.
